ACCESSIBILITY

We have worked with ‘AccessAble’ so you can find out about our facilities before you visit. AccessAble’s surveyors assessed The Boat House to create a Detailed Access Guide.

Summary

We want the unspoilt beauty of Rothiemurchus to be enjoyed and cherished by as many people as possible.

The ground floor of the Boat House has been modified as best we reasonably can to enable those who are less mobile or who use a wheelchair to enjoy The Boat House. There is a ramp available (see image below) that enables the whole ground floor to be wheelchair accessible (it also also useful to know that there is an option to travel from the front of the house to the kitchen dining area by going out of the front door and in by the patio door both of which have level entry).

Entrances for a wheelchair are through the Front Door and the door from the garden paved area to the Dining room.

From the Rowan bedroom just inside the Front door there is level access to the Chill Out room and Snug and a temporary ramp, 1:8, (notice required, see above) leading to the dining area, kitchen and to the garden. Please ask for more details.

The shower room adjoining the Rowan Bedroom has been designed by Motion Spot to be as fully accessible as the space allows.  It has a suitable wide doorway, large shower space complete with a removable shower seat and appropriate grab rails. Both glass shower screens open back to the wall so that the space can be used with no unnecessary obstructions.
