AS RECOMMENDED BY THE SUNDAY TIMES TRAVEL

Welcome to your idyllic, luxury sanctuary, in its own secluded corner of Rothiemurchus – “one of the 100 most amazing places in the U.K.” (Sunday Times in association with Reader’s Digest).

This chic, super comfortable, ‘four-legged friend’ and family-friendly self-catering retreat, nestles into beautiful woodland surroundings beside the Milton Burn where it joins the famous River Spey, with views of the Monadhliaths and Cairngorms.  It feels remote but is just two miles from Aviemore.

For those seeking an inspirational, undisturbed, relaxing getaway, one of the oldest homes on Rothiemurchus has been thoughtfully transformed, with practical, 21st-century facilities and relaxing interiors created by talented, international stylist Fanny Ward. The spacious living areas and space outside, with wonderful walks from your doorstep, make this peaceful private haven perfect for families, celebrations and those seeking a dreamily romantic hideaway.

Nature and people live in harmony on family-owned Rothiemurchus which is internationally acclaimed for its natural and cultural heritage and loved for the stunning scenery.   Loch an Eilein, celebrated as one of the most stunning, romantic and inspirational places in Scotland is less than a mile away, as is Estate Farm Shop recently featured on
‘James Martin’s Islands to Highlands’.

Our experienced housekeeper, Eleanor, takes every precaution and care for your safety. Your personal hosts, James and Amy can organise deliveries as well as advising on the huge variety of outdoor activities and special places to visit, if you want to leave The Boat House – which many guests don’t!
